The rhinoplasty is designed to change the shape and size of the nose. Patients may be unhappy with the shape and size of the nose present from birth or due to genetics. Areas that are addressed are the width of the nose, the dorsal "hump", wide nostrils, large tip and nasal deviation. A careful assessment of the nose is performed on each patient and the surgical plan is tailored to address the specific areas of concerns, helping improve self-esteem and confidence.
Rhinoplasty can be performed in a "closed" which means that all incisions are placed inside the nose or "open" with an incision placed on the columella, the strip of the nose between the nostrils. Each approach has its advantages, a meticulous surgical plan is developed keeping in mind the limitations of each approach.
